Description

Eudora High School is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Auto Collision Repair Instructor beginning with the 2024-2025 school year. The position requires familiarity with current trends within auto body repair, and the ability to demonstrate repair skills in both the classroom and in a hands-on environment.

 

Courses will cover technical skills dealing with repair/replacement of parts, accessing information from manuals, using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment, estimating, welding, cutting and working metal, alignment of automotive panels, preparation of surfaces, painting, detailing, and polishing. The position salary will be based on education and experience.

 

Applicants must have or be eligible to obtain a Kansas teaching license or technical education certificate.

Position Overview: 


We are seeking a passionate and experienced Auto Collision Instructor to join our team at Eudora High School/Eudora/De Soto Technical Education Center. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for teaching and mentoring high school students, igniting their interest in the field of auto collision repair and inspiring them to pursue careers in this dynamic industry.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and deliver engaging and interactive lessons on auto collision repair techniques, safety procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Provide hands-on instruction in a workshop setting, guiding students through practical exercises and projects to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, explore new concepts, and pursue their interests in auto collision repair.
  • Assess student performance and progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their learning journey.
  • Collaborate with fellow instructors and school staff to integrate auto collision repair concepts into interdisciplinary projects and activities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, advancements in technology, and changes in regulations to ensure curriculum relevance and alignment with industry and state career and technical education (CTE) standards.
  • Mentor and support students interested in pursuing further education or careers in auto collision repair, providing guidance on apprenticeship opportunities, certification programs, and job placement.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in a wide range of auto collision repair techniques, including dent repair, painting, frame straightening, and refinishing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate high school students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring young minds, inspiring a love for learning and a curiosity about auto collision repair.
  • Relevant certifications or credentials in auto collision repair (e.g., ASE certifications, I-CAR certifications) are preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Automotive Technology, Vocational Education) preferred.
  • Experience working with high school students or teaching experience in a vocational or technical education setting is a plus.
