Description

An Early Childhood Teacher plays a vital role in the development and education of young children.  This position focuses on providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment where children can develop essential social, emotional, and cognitive skills. The Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, fostering positive relationships, and creating an environment that supports the holistic growth of each child, encouraging free play and assessing the needs of children in care throughout the day.

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification and/or licensure as required by state regulations.
  • Knowledge of child development principles, age-appropriate teaching methodologies, and early childhood education best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain it).
  • Clear background check and child abuse clearances.
  • Health and Tuberculin Certificates on file after an offer of employment is made.

 

Some of the duties you will complete in this role: 

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Design and implement a comprehensive, age-appropriate curriculum that supports children's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
  • Create engaging lesson plans and educational activities that promote learning through play and exploration.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate the diverse needs of individual children.
  • Establish and maintain a well-organized, safe, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Manage classroom behavior and encourage positive social interactions among children.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety within the classroom and play areas.
  • Regularly assess and document children's progress and development through observations, portfolios, and assessments.
  • Share children's progress with parents and guardians and collaborate on individualized learning plans.
