We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Benefits Clerk to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of employee satisfaction and well-being.

 

Position Overview:

 

As a Benefits Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth administration of employee benefits and resolving any discrepancies in accounting records. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both employees and vendors. Responsibilities:

 

  • Resolve discrepancies in accounting records related to employee benefits.
  • Address and resolve issues with employee benefits, directing questions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Answer general benefits-related inquiries from employees.
  • Schedule employee onboarding for new hires.
  • Conduct new employee enrollment for benefits programs.
  • Verify the accuracy of billing data and revise any errors as needed.
  • Maintain records of invoices and support documents.
  • Assist with the district's wellness incentive program and actively participate in the wellness committee.
  • Reconcile discrepancies by comparing previously prepared bank statements with canceled checks.
  • Match statements with batches of canceled checks by account numbers.
  • Operate typing, adding, calculating, or billing machines as required.
  • Utilize files, databases, or reference materials to obtain necessary information.
  • Provide information to coworkers regarding benefits and onboarding processes.
  • Discuss account status or activity with employees and vendors when necessary.
  • Maintain financial or account records accurately.
  • Prepare informational or reference materials as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in benefits administration or accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suites and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
