Description

Eudora Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Early Childhood Aide in the brand-new Early Learning Center.  

 

The Early Childhood Aide assists the Early Childhood Teacher in creating a positive learning environment to facilitate students' personal, social, and intellectual development.  To

accomplish these tasks, the Early Childhood Aide works closely with the staff and administration of The Eudora Early Learning Center and The Eudora School District.  This is a full-time, year-round position. 

 

Qualified Candidates must meet the following requirements: 

  • Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the Central Office (after employment offer is made).
  • Desire to continue career improvement.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated previous experience in an early childhood setting.  
  • A Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate or an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in early childhood education or a related field;, or; 
  • Have a high school diploma or a GED and completed 48 credit hours at an institution of higher education or;
  • Associate’s degree (or higher), or;
  • Pass a State-approved assessment (listed above under Title I) that determines an ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics; or reading, writing, and mathematics readiness.

Some job responsibilities include: 

  • Assist in the instruction and supervision of students to promote student achievement.
  • Supervise playground/recess and lunchroom activities to ensure appropriate, safe, and responsible behavior on the playground and in the cafeteria.
  • Tutor students as directed.
  • Assist with one-on-one, small group, or whole-class instruction.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher on student progress.
  • Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers about student confidentiality.
  • Guide and encourage responsible behavior.
  • Supervision of students as designated.  
  • Attend staffing and general staff meetings as directed.
  • Ability to keep student information and records confidential.
  • Work effectively with students, teachers, parents, community, agencies, and other groups.
