Every student in Eudora Schools is known by name, strength, and need, and graduates prepared for the future they choose.
Eudora Schools is accepting applications for potential openings beginning with the 2025-2026 academic year. The classroom instructor creates a positive learning environment to facilitate students' personal, social, and intellectual development. To respond to students' individual needs and abilities, they must work closely with other staff and the administration of USD 491.
Qualified applicants will meet the following minimum requirements:
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree

Current Kansas State Teaching Certificate

Health and Inoculation Certification on file in the District Office after an offer of employment has been made.

Desire to continue career improvement

Endorsement in appropriate subject area
Job responsibilities will include the following (not an exhaustive list of duties):

Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students you are responsible for.

Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' needs and interests.

Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods, such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations.

Confer with parents, guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems.

Prepare students for later grades by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks.

Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.

Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to students.

Provide various materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
